Grandparents, carers and children with autism or with sensory disabilities are invited for a sensory-friendly storytime and meet the animals activity at Edendale Farm. Children will get an opportunity to get up close with the animals, including feeding and patting them in a small, sensory-friendly group. Farmer Karina will share a classic farmyard book, suited to young children with disability, in the beautiful surrounds of Edendale Farm.
A social story that helps young children with sensory disabilities to prepare for their visit is available on this webpage. A quiet space will be provided on the day.
All registered attendees will receive a free voucher for a drink and a snack at Edendale's Cafe Eden.
Bookings are free but we ask that all attendees register so that the group remains small to ensure a sensory-friendly environment. Please note, all attendees must book a ticket to be able to receive a Cafe voucher. Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer at all times during the activity.
We want to ensure that people have equal access to our workshops. Please contact our Environmental Education team on Edendale.education@nillumbik.vic.gov.au or call 9433 3711 to discuss how we can make these sessions inclusive and accessible for you.
