There are a number of ways to get to Edendale.

Ride or walk

Walk or ride along the Diamond Creek Trail to the front (southern) or back (northern) gates of Edendale. The Diamond Creek Trail stretches from Hurstbridge to Etham South where it joins up with the main Yarra Trail.

Bus

Walk from the following bus stops:

578 Eltham to Warrandyte via Kangaroo Ground
579 Eltham to Warrandyte via Research – Warrandyte Road
582 Eltham to Research
580 Eltham to Eltham South

Bus stops near Edendale

 

  • Park West Rd / Main Rd bus stop is approx. 400m walk to Edendale's southern pedestrian entrance. There are pedestrian lights to cross Park West Road and Main Road on your way to Edednale
  • Wattle Tree Rd / Main Rd bus stop is approx. 300m walk to Edendale's southern pedestrian entrance. 
  • Progress Rd / Wattletree Rd bus stop is approx 380m walk to Edendale's southern pedestrian entrance. Walk over the bridge and then use the underpass to cross under Walltetree Rd. The path under the bridge is quite steep

Train

Get the train to Eltham station, then bike ride or walk along the path to Edendale Community Environment Farm ( approx. 20 minute walk). 

Car parking

The car parks can be quite full in the morning.  A quieter time to visit is after lunch to closing time at 4:30pm

  • Eltham North Reserve Adventure Playground car park - From the playground follow the signed path across the Diamond Creek bridge to the northern entrance of Edendale. This takes less than 5 minutes and is the closest car park to Edendale's Indigenous plant nursery.
  • Middle and Lower car park - Park in the two carparks along Gastons Road out the front of Edendale and walk up the pedestrian only driveway.
  • Upper car park - Enter via the front (southern) entrance along Gastons Road. There are 28 spaces available including 2 disabled spaces. If disabled spaces are full, look for the sign for details so you can contact a staff member for alternative arrangements.
