Clothes Swap at Edendale

SLF image.png

A clothes swap (or clothing exchange) is a great way to find new-to-you items for your wardrobe, and to reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfill. Clothes swaps provide not only a sustainable alternative to buying new clothes but also promotes community engagement and social interaction. It is a fun way to refresh your wardrobe, discover new styles and connect with others who share an interest in sustainable fashion.

What do I bring?

Bring up to 5 items that you no longer want but would be happy to lend to your friend to wear (good condition - no rips or tears or underwear please). You can bring clothing, shoes or accessories (like handbags and belts). When you drop them off at a table on site you will receive up to 5 tokens (one for each item you bring) that you can then use to purchase your new items.

How will the event run?

We ask participants to first register interest, then on the day drop your clothing or accessories off from 11:30am - 12:30pm. We will then have light refreshments in the Macey room and a presentation that will start at 12pm on Textile Waste to educate and inspire our audience, facilitated by a representative from A Fitting Connection. Then between 12:30pm - 2pm, we will have the clothes swap event in the Mummery room, where you get to pick your new wardrobe to take home with you!
