Clean Up Australia Day- Edendale Farm and Diamond Creek Trail walk

Latest image.png

It's hard to believe that Clean Up Australia Day started over thirty years ago, by Ian Kiernan, an "average Australian" who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard. The event has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event, held annually on the first Sunday in March.

Join us on Sunday 3rd March at 9:45am to make a difference, help the environment and assist in the clean up the Diamond Creek trail and our North Eltham Community Precinct.

Meet: Meet at the Sheoak shelter, enter via the northern entrance gate to Edendale Farm, walk up the path and we will show you where to go.

Bring: If you have your own gloves and/or litter pick up tools free free to bring them along (we will have some spare).

What to expect: We will begin our event at Edendale Farm (Sheoak Shelter) at 9:45am for site registration, safety briefing and bag collection. At approximately 10am we will head down to the Diamond Creek Trail and begin our Clean-Up event. We will move along the trail picking up rubbish from just as we exit Edendale Farm (north entrance) over the bridge, and progress to Eltham North Adventure Playground. Once we have cleaned up the playground we will continue along the Diamond Creek Trail, past the Eltham Redbacks Football club and up close to Laurel Hill Drive exit before turning around and heading back to Edendale Farm.

We will finish at the Sheoak Shelter and celebrate with some morning tea and hear from a guest speaker from the Yarra Riverkeeper Association about stormwater and litter to finish.

Appropriate for: Families and community members
