Summer Sounds continues Friday 20 February with Far & Wide: World Music. Let Drum Connection’s African rhythms, Bohemian Nights’ gypsy flair, and Sanacori’s soulful Mediterranean folk take you on a global journey. Bring a picnic, explore Edendale Farm at twilight, and dance beneath the stars to music from around the world.

Gates open at 5pm, live music from 6pm-9pm.

Drum Connection

African Drumming | 6pm-6.30pm

Annie Fletcher has been leading Drum Connection groups at Allwood Neighbourhood House in Hurstbridge continuously for 20 years. The group has performed at countless festivals, community and private events. Feel the groove - wanna move? Intoxicating beats will have you jiggling in your seat and dancing on your feet!

Bohemian Nights

World music (Gypsy, Klezmer, French, Italian, Tango, Jazz) | 6.45pm-7.30pm

Ernie Gruner (violin, mandolin, vocals) and Phil Carroll (vocals, accordion, kaval) play European, Gypsy, Klezmer, French, Italian music from soulful to wild. They’ve played festivals around Australia and have had seven New Zealand tours.

Sanacori

World Folk Sanacori (from the Southern Italian idiom 'to heal the heart') is a dynamic music ensemble that reimagines traditional songs from Italy and the Mediterranean with soulful vocals, rich storytelling, and a vibrant mix of old and new, where passion, longing and rebellion come alive in every performance.

MC Annie Fletcher 

Annie Fletcher has been immersed in music, dance and community for decades. You might know her from Rhythm Antics, Hurstbridge Belly Dance, the Footscray Gypsy Orchestra, or as MC at Boite World Harmonies concerts. She’s led drumming workshops at festivals and leads the Drum Connection drumming group.

A proud Nillumbik local of more than 20 years, Annie brings her signature energy to this concert series - and when the rhythm hits, she’ll be the first to invite you to dance.

  • Order a sizzling snack from the BBQ tent.

Nillumbik Shire Council is committed to low or no waste events. Please try to make your picnic as waste-free as possible and take your rubbish home with you.

There is some parking available at the front of Edendale and overflow parking may be available at Eltham North Adventure Playground where you can access Edendale via the back gate.
