Next date: Saturday, 28 March 2026 | 10:00 AM
to 12:30 PM
Join horticulturalist and environmental educator Melissa Houselander for a Bokashi composting workshop at Edendale.
Participants will gain practical knowledge about this simple, compact process that uses beneficial microbes to ferment food waste in a small space, including:
· What exactly is Bokashi?
· What you’ll need and where to set up
· What type of food waste and how to add it into the Bokashi system
· How to use the nutrient-rich liquid gold
· Next steps after the fermenting process, where and how to use it in the garden
The workshop includes a demonstration of how Edendale utilises the Bokashi system and is suitable for adults and young people (16+) with beginner to intermediate gardening knowledge.
We aim to ensure that people have equal access to our workshops. Please contact Edendale on 9433 3711 to discuss how we can make these sessions inclusive and accessible for you.
