Private bookings

Edendale is the perfect place for your next birthday party, reunion, anniversary or other private celebration or gathering.

We have a number of outdoor shelters of various sizes, catering for groups of up to 60 people. Our lawn spaces are also available to reserve.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer indoor spaces or rooms for private parties or functions.

Booking details

Booking times and set up/pack down

Shelters and lawns can only be booked on weekends
Shelter and lawn hire is by the hour, and there is a two-hour minimum hire for all spaces
Your booking includes set up and pack down, so please factor this into your booking time
A trolley is available to help you get your supplies to and from the car park. Please return the trolley to car park immediately after setting up
No vehicles can be taken onto the site beyond the carpark area

Catering and decorations

Catering and food

Bring your own party food and catering supplies, remembering to consider the environment and waste management in your party planning
Cafe Eden is available for catering
Party Kits (including reuseable plates, cups and decorations) may be available from the Party Kit Network
Food trucks are not permitted for private events
All shelters have tables and chairs suited to the capacity of the shelter
Power is available for your use in some shelters - see individual shelter listings below
No gas barbeques are allowed
Take any party waste home with you to sort into appropriate home recycling systems.

Decorations

No balloons, piñatas or party poppers are allowed. Decorations such as reusable bunting and other paper decorations are welcome

Activities and entertainment

You are welcome to arrange your own entertainer to join you in your shelter, such as face painters or magicians
Other activities such as pony rides or bouncing castles are not permitted
If you are arranging an entertainer, please let us know prior to the day

We offer self-guided Farm Tours and a Guinea Pig visit as option add-on activities for your booking. Find more information under 'Add-on activities'.

Edendale-specific conditions

No balloons, piñatas or confetti allowed on site
All waste should be removed from the site to be sorted and disposed of in your household waste system (or a waste fee may apply)
No gas BBQs to be brought on site
No food trucks to be brought on site (festivals exempt)
No marquees or market umbrellas to be erected on site
No jumping castles to be erected on site

Fire Danger days: Edendale will be closed on days of Extreme or Catastrophic fire danger rating. Cancellation by Nillumbik due to closure or internal decision at any time before or on booking date will result in a 100% refund of venue hire cost and additions/fees.

Payment terms and refunds - shelter or lawn hire:
- 100% of venue hire cost and additions/fees such as public liability cover (if applicable) will be due on confirmation of booking
- Cancellation by customer on or before four days before booking date will result in a 100% refund of venue hire cost and additions/fees
- Cancellation by customer less than four days before booking date will result in a 0% refund of venue hire cost and 100% refund of additions/fees.

We will confirm your booking via email within three working days - this email will include your invoice, payable online with credit or debit card

Please read our conditions of hire (above) carefully as it may impact your party planning. This document also contains information about refunds.

Public liability insurance is included in the booking price. A form will be provided for you to complete and return.

Guinea Pig visit

Add a Guinea Pig experience to your party booking.

Suitable for groups of up to 20.
Available at 11am or 2pm.

Self-guided Farm Tour with feed

Add a self-guided Farm Tour experience to add to your booking.
$72 per group.
Suitable for up to 20 children.
Delivered to your shelter at the beginning of your booking time.

Unbooked visit

Your gathering of up to 15 people may be able to use our outdoor shelter spaces if the area is not already booked, but you may need to share the space with other Edendale visitors.
Groups are also welcome to have a small party on one of our lawn areas while still allowing other visitors use of the area.
Bring your own party food or our al fresco Cafe Eden is open 9am to 3pm for coffee and light meals (catering also available).
Please contact our team prior to your visit if you plan to bring along tables, a shade shelter or umbrella.
