As part of our commitment to animal welfare and biosecurity, Edendale Farm has temporarily restricted public access to our chicken enclosures meaning for the time being visitors will not be able to feed or interact with our chickens.
These measures are being taken in response to the current H5 bird flu (H5N1 avian influenza) situation and are consistent with Agriculture Victoria's precautionary biosecurity requirements and advice for poultry owners of flocks greater than 50 birds.
Importantly, all chickens at Edendale are healthy, and there have been no reported detections at the farm. The restrictions are a precautionary measure designed to help keep our flock safe and support Victoria's broader biosecurity efforts.
The restrictions will be reviewed as further advice becomes available from Agriculture Victoria.
