Children will learn about the roles of different minibeasts in the environment, including their lifecycles, and how they depend on their surroundings (and sometimes each other!) to survive. 

In this activity we will explore several minibeasts such as spiny leaf insects, composting worms and bees, and possibly the Eltham Copper Butterfly and water bugs from the farm dam.

  • Best suited to the age group of 4 -10 year olds.   Accompanying adults are not required to purchase a ticket.
  • Please allow plenty of time to find a carpark and make your way to the Mummery Room as the Farm can be very busy in the holidays.

Appropriate for:

4 to 10 year olds with an interest in nature

What you will learn:

Amazing facts about the importance of bugs in our world and why we should look after them.

What to wear:

Casual clothes .

 

Parking Info:

Please allow time to find a carpark and walk to the Mummery Room.

While there is some parking available at the front of Edendale we would encourage you to investigate some more sustainable transport options including:

  • Riding your bike
  • Public Transport 
  • Walking
  • Car pooling

Some overflow parking may be available at Eltham North playground

 

Please note we will have Harringtons Coffee Cart on site this day as Cafe Eden will be closed for some of the school holidays.
Self-catering and picnics are welcome every day at Edendale.

 

Bookings are essential and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Accompanying adults are not required to purchase a ticket.
