If you are thinking of having a party at beautiful Edendale, we have a number of options. 

You can hire a shelter space and enjoy exploring the farm at your own pace, or meet friends without a booking to enjoy our gardens, animals and outdoor areas. Unfortunately we can not offer indoor rooms for parties or private functions.

Types of parties

Parties can only be booked on weekends and public holidays (except Christmas day) and are subject to availability.

Choose one of our Shelters to Hire

  • Exclusive use of your booked outdoor shelter for 2 1/2 hours.

Edendale is a great place for children to explore and enjoy the environment. Take the opportunity to show them the self-guided activities, gardens and animals or plan your own enviro friendly activities.

  

 

Add on a Farm Tour Bag

Once you have chosen a shelter you can add on a Farm Tour Bag to help you explore the farm and meet our animals. 

  • Before your party starts our farmer will give you a big blue bag of some of our animals favorite foods and instructions for you to take your group on a self guided farm tour at your leisure. 
  • Animals you may meet on the tour could be chooks, goats, alpacas and sheep depending on the season. 
  • Maximum of 20 children on the tour.
  • The cost is an additional $65.

 

 

Add on a Guinea Pig visit

Once you have chosen a shelter you can arrange for your guests to get up close to our gorgeous Guinea Pigs.

  • Our farmer will bring some of our friendly Guinea Pigs to your shelter space at either 11am or 2pm to meet your guests and have a pat.
  • The guinea Pigs will be placed on their cushions on the lap of your seated guests and everyone will get a turn.
  • The visit will last for 20 minutes.
  • The cost is an additional $85.

 

 

 

Other options

  • Unbooked parties and gatherings are possible keeping in mind a few considerations. A gathering of up to 10-15 people is able to use our outdoor shelter spaces if the area is not already booked, but you may need to share the space with other Edendale visitors.
  • Groups are also welcome to have a small party on one of our lawn areas while still allowing other Edendale visitors use of the area.
  • Bring your own party food or al fresco Cafe Eden is open 9am to 3pm for coffee and light meals (catering also available).

  • Please consult in advance with staff if you plan to bring along a shade shelter or umbrella.

 

         

 

Party times and set up

  • Parties run for 2 1/2 hours.  Morning, 10am to 12.30pm or afternoon, 1.30pm to 4pm time slots only.
  • You will have access to the shelter 1/2 an hour before and after your booking slot to set up and clean up after your party
  • A trolley is available for use to get your party supplies to and from the car park ( please return to car park immediately after set up - thank you ).
  • No balloons allowed, other decorations such as reusable bunting / paper decorations are welcome

Catering for your party

  • Bring your own party food and catering needs, remembering to consider the environment and waste management in your party planning. Or you can contact Cafe Eden for catering options. (Food trucks are not permitted for private parties) 
  • Take any party waste home with you to sort into appropriate recycling systems. 
  • Hire a Party Kit from the Party Kit Network.

Lawn spaces

Our well maintained gardens and lawn areas make great spaces for celebrations with three different lawn spaces available for hire.

The front homestead, east homestead and reception lawns are available for hire and are suitable for small to medium events.

Recommended group size  -  up to 150 people depending on the lawn areas chosen ( approximately 50 people per lawn space)

  • All shelters are undercover but have no wind protection.
  • Two tables and some seating is provided in all shelters.
  • Guest estimates are general and may not provide full shelter for that number in wet weather.
  • Additional guests are welcome to spill out around the shelter.
  • We suggest you drop in to have a look at the facility to ensure it suits your requirements prior to booking.

  •  All prices include public liability insurance.

    How to book and pay

    Complete the online Party Booking Request below, we will check availability of your chosen date and be in touch to confirm details.

    We require payment in the week before the booking date. EFTPOS facilities and over the phone payments are available.

    Please read our conditions of hire and our refund policy carefully.

     

    On the day

    You can arrive half an hour before the party to set up in the chosen outdoor shelter. The staff member on duty will make contact with you to assist if required.

     

    Insurance

    Public Liability protection is included for you and your guests when hiring a space at Edendale. You will need to complete a Community Public Liability Form and return it with your payment.

     

Conditions of Hire 

As Edendale is an environmental education facility we have guidelines in place that focus on:

  • protecting the environment
  • the safety of our animals
  • ensuring that all visitors can enjoy all that the farm has to offer.

Our conditions could impact on the type of party you are planning, please be sure to read and understand them fully.

Edendale is an environmental education facility and a public family oriented venue, as such we are keen that you:

•Use reusable food storage containers where possible
•Use recyclable materials
•Have minimal waste

 

Note that:

•There are no facilities to store or heat food
•We do not allow portable Gas BBQ’s, Food Trucks or Jumping Castles
•You must ensure that guests DO NOT feed party food to the animals; it can make them very sick
•You must take home any waste or rubbish from the party to sort and recycle. If waste from your party is found on site there will be a waste removal charge

Restrictions

The following restrictions apply:

•No dogs (except assistance dogs)
•No excessive consumption of alcohol, loud music or noise maker (whistles, blowouts or party horns)
•No ball games, bike or skateboard riding.  Bike parking is available at designated places
•Reusable decorations only such as material bunting, this must be removed at the end of your booking.
•No party poppers, balloons, confetti, streamers or piñatas (we will ask you to remove these items from the party area to be disposed of off site)

 

Payment

Payment should be made in the week leading up to your booking.  Payable at Edendale Reception Monday to Friday.  Credit card payments can be accepted over the phone.

Insurance

Public Liability Insurance protection for you and your guests is included when hiring a space at Edendale.

A Community Public Liability Form will be provided for completion.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

•If extreme weather is forecast for the day of your booking you may cancel.  A full refund will be made if you advise us by the Thursday before your booking, otherwise an administration fee of $20 will apply.
•We will cancel on Extreme or Code Red Fire Danger days as Edendale closed to the public.  We will advise you as early as possible and provide a full refund.
•If a medical or other emergency occurs on site, your farmer will be required to attend the emergency.  In this case your farm tour/activity will end and you will be refunded accordingly.
•If there is any other reason for a cancellation a $20 administration fee will be incurred.

 

Supervision of guests

Children must be supervised at all times so please ensure you have enough adults for supervision
