Backyard chooks for beginners

Black and white rooster

Unfortunately this workshop has been postponed. Our next planned Chook Workshop is on Thursday July 6 at 10am, in the coming school holidays and is available for booking.

Come along to Edendale and learn the basics of backyard chicken keeping with our farmer Stephen.

This hands-on two hour workshop will cover the characteristics of different breeds (in order to make a selection that suits your setting and needs) as well as the housing and care of chickens.

This workshop would suit those who are keen to learn the basics. Participants will leave this workshop with the knowledge and confidence to begin keeping chickens and producing their own free-range eggs.

Please wear covered shoes and dress for the outdoors, including a hat. This is an adult-focused learning experience and not suited to young children.
